i happened to open a leicha m8 raw file the other night and noticed it had a raw tone map and a raw noise reduction map.
when i open 10D crw raw files, i notice only a tone map. i suppose that's OK and suppose the noise map just wasn't made since the 10D is so old. no big deal but just observing.

I have Canon equipment and with CRAW2 files, a ZoneMapper only opens up automatically which does the basic development and then you can change/enhance it from there by adding a ToneMapper, white balance, etc.
You can save any number presets that you want into one preset so that when the picture first opens up they are all there. As for the ToneMapper opening first, I think you may be confusing that with the ZoneMapper.

Hi Grue,
the reason why the 10D doesn't have NR applied by default is because IMHO it doesn't need one. Even though the 10D is an older camera its image quality is just fantastic, better than many other current models.
You can always change the default RAW templates though, see:

rzych - yep sorry, i meant zone :)
fabio - you guys really have come a long way with this program! i didn't realize you could save a template for raw files, i just wasn't sure what that all meant. ha! i was over complicating it!
