    Yes! it's a great news!

As a lot of Beta testers of LZ on GNU/Linux, I'm ready to get a commercial license for this marvellous software.

LZ 3.4 beta works fine on my computer Intel core2 quad_6600 4 Gigas ram.

My OS: Mandriva Power Pack 2008.1 x86_64 bits.

Sorry for my poor english... I'm french...

    Default Future release after 3.4?

As a happy user of LZ 3.4 for Linux, I'm waiting for the next (commercial?) release - I would buy it anytime, even though I'm thinking maybe it would be a good idea to make it free software on Linux (and payable on Win/Mac?).

Many good wishes to the LZ Team!

Definitely a good news for such a good software. Thanks Lightcrafts.

Well - the trial period ends today - 00:00 according to my copy (I'm in UK).

There have been a few hints from Lightcraft, nothing official - so would somebody now please DO something?

There appears to be plenty of Linux users willing to either

Continue the Trial (maybe with another Beta?)

Go with a 'free' Linux version that is entirely community supported

    or even

Pay up and assist commmunity support

So Lightcraft, please respond, preferably today before the Trial runs out along with (I guess) quite a lot of potential users patience and interest.

I do NOT want to have to buy the Win product and put it on a virtual PC, I WANT the Linux product, one way or another.
Way to many cups of Ubuntu

    Mike,

They've mentioned on another thread that there will be a commercial version available soon---and likely with a good discount for early adopters (or maybe lifetime support/upgrades, like the original charter member version). Don't know exactly when, but it should be 'soon'...

I do hope that soon is within this week, I really need a GOOD raw converting program and can't do long without one. I think you will loose a lot of clients if you keep them of lightzone too long since a lot of people are using this as primary photo-editing app...

    My advise:
    - Bring out an official release tomorrow
    - Bring out another beta tomorrow

The fact that you are planning to make a discount for early buyers sounds great!

    Cheers,
    PJ

I just agree - the first REAL usable Linux software for fans of DSLR photography, not only fans of Linux. I guess there could be nothing worse than disappointing the growing number of people willing to use this cute piece of code - eagerly awaiting LIGHTCRAFTS team to get another BETA out, please! Or at least a sign how we will continue tomorrow - literally...

    Markus,

Or how about a full price version with full support? It's unclear why you would want a start-up company that needs cash to continue to develop their product to give it away free, just because of your OS choice...

When Lightcrafts brought out the product (and I finally 'got it'), I decided to pay for a full price license---not because the product was worth it entirely---but because I believed in the promise of the product, and the paradigm they were using. The benefit of doing this as a charter member is that my 'investment' entitled me to lifetime upgrades. I'd love to see them do something similar for the linux community---but giving it away free, no...
