1. How do I activate a new installation of
LightZone?
If you have purchased a stand alone license of LightZone, you only need to enter that serial number for that product.
2. How do I upgrade, I'm getting an 'Invalid Serial Number' message?
An upgrade installation occurs when you are upgrading from one version of LightZone to another and a new serial number is required, i.e. a paid upgrade. An upgrade serial number will contain the letter "U" in the fourth digit, for example "LZ3UFF2001-1234-1234-1234-1234-1234" An upgrade serial number cannot be used by itself and requires that the previous LightZone be installed and activated. If you are upgrading to the latest version of LightZone, you need to take the following into consideration:
a. If you are upgrading to LightZone 3.0 Basic from LightZone 2.x or 1.x, the previous version of LightZone must installed and activated. If you do not have an earlier version of LightZone, LightZone 2.4 can be found on the standard download page.
b. If you are upgrading to LightZone 3.0 Full from LightZone 2.x or 1.x, the previous version of LightZone must installed and activated. If you do not have an earlier version of LightZone, LightZone 2.4 can be found on the standard download page.
c. If you are upgrading to LightZone 3.0 Full from LightZone 3.0 Basic, then be sure that LightZone 3.0 Basic is activated and then activate LightZone full.
d. If you have purchased multiple upgrades in the past, you will need to install the original purchase first and use the serial numbers for each upgrade thereafter.
For example: Joe originally purchased LightZone 2.4 Basic. He later decides to upgrade to LightZone 2.4 Full. And then finally upgrades to LightZone 3.0 Full.
At this point Joe has 3 different serial numbers. If Joe's computer crashes and he wants to get back to LightZone 3.0 Full, he can not just install LightZone 3.0 and enter the last serial number he received. Joe must install LightZone 2.4, use his first serial number, then enter the upgrade serial number of his second purchase, and then finally install LightZone 3.0 with his last serial number.

3. I get an 'Exceeded Activation' when I
try to install, why?
Our license allows for activations for a desktop and a laptop. If you have reformatted, have had a system crash, had a system migration done, etc... then you have to activate your license once again, resulting in a possible 'Exceeded Activation' message. If that happens, simply contact support with the subject of 'Activation Exceeded' and your serial number. Our support staff will reset your activations and send a confirmation.
4. Where can I find my serial number?
You can retrieve it by entering the email address you used when you purchased LightZone into the "Email Order History" on this page: eSellerate.
5. I have LightZone RT/Classic, what can I upgrade to?
LightZone RT is the equivalent of the present LightZone Basic, and LightZone Classic is equivalent to LightZone Full.
